IHRC representative in Damascus meet with Father Dave Smith

ممثل اللجنة الدولية لحقوق الانسان في دمشق يلتقي الأب ديفيد سمث من الكنيسة الانجليكية في استراليا

التقى الدكتور نبيل طعمة مستشار الشؤون البرلمانية في اللجنة الدولية لحقوق الانسان، بحضور الدكتورة ناهد الحسيني مستشارة اعلامية لوكالة الأنباء الدولية لحقوق الانسان، وتوم دوغان اعلامي ومحلل استراتيجي بريطاني الأب الاسترالي ديفيد سمث من الكنيسة الانجليكانية في دولوش هيل مع الوفد المرافق له.

تطرق الحديث بين الجانبين الى "سبل بناء الجسور بين البلدين والشعبين، وفتح ثغرة في الجدار بغية تقريب وجهات النظر بين البلدين عبر النشاطات الانسانية والدينية والرياضية."

وبدوره، قال الدكتور نبيل طعمة "ليس لدى سوريا أي قيود يخصوص استقبال الوفود الأجنبية التي ترغب بالعمل مع الحكومة والشعب السوري، في حين تفرض استراليا الآن قيودا صارمة على الاسترالين من أصل سوري الراغبين في زيارة بلدهم الأم."

في حين قال الأب ديفيد أن الوهابيين لهم تأثير ملحوظ على الجالية المسلمة في استراليا بسبب الدعم المالي الذي يصلهم عبر السعودية والمنظمات التي تدين بالولاء للعقليىة الوهابية.

وناشد الكتور طعمة الأب ديفيد بأن ينقل للمسؤولين الاسترالين بأن "سوريا موزايك متنوع وبقي موحدا وقويا وأفشلت المؤامرة التي كان هدفها خلق حرب أهلية في سوريا."   

Advisor at large on parliamentary committee for IHRC, Dr. Nabil Toumeh, met with Father Dave Smith from the Anglican Church of Dulwich Hill in Sydney and his accompanying delegation. Also present were Dr. Nahed Al Husaini, Advisor to INHR, and Tom Duggan, British journalist and political strategist. Both sides discussed ways and means of cementing bridges between the two countries, and focused on the necessity of opening up a hole in the wall to bring together the two nations to a better understanding, through humanitarian, religious and sport activities. On his part Dr. Nabil said that Syria has no restrictions to receive any foreign delegates who are willing to work with the Syrian government and people, while Australia is now imposing restrictions on Syrian Australians who wish to come back to visit their country of origin. Father Dave said that he believed the Wahabists have made a significant impact on the Muslim community in Australia, due to major funding coming from Saudi Arabia and the religious organizations affiliated with the Wahabist ideology. Dr. Toumeh requested Father Dave to convey to his counterparts that Syria is an amazing mosaic, and despite the West attempts to ruin it, this mosaic remains united and steadfast, and the plot of creating a civil strife has been aborted.
